The Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes the consumer price index once a month. This report prints the all-items index for one month as it stood when the report was first stored, says whether it is higher than, lower than, or the same as the month before, and links the release. A price index is a level, not a rate of inflation, and this paper computes no change.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the September 2026 Consumer Price Index on Oct 14, 2026. The release is also published as a BLS PDF.

The consumer price index for all items for September 2026 is 336.298, higher than the August 2026 print, 334.131. The feed names the unit Index 1982-1984=100.

Each print is shown as the agency published it, relayed by GOVSPENDING.ORG, as it stood when this report was first stored on Oct 20, 2026. A later revision of the month is not written into this report. Higher, lower, and the same compare the two stored prints printed beside them, and this paper computes no change.
