How to cite

Cite a story by the paper, the date, the headline, and the address.

APA The Fed Gazette. (2026, October 5). Headline of the story. https://fedgazette.com/articles/slug/

Chicago “Headline of the Story.” The Fed Gazette, October 5, 2026. https://fedgazette.com/articles/slug/.

MLA “Headline of the Story.” The Fed Gazette, 5 Oct. 2026, fedgazette.com/articles/slug/.

A figure in the Ledger belongs to the agency that published it. Cite that agency first and this paper as the place you read it, with the as-of date printed beside the figure:

Figure Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Effective Federal Funds Rate, as of [date on the Ledger]. Retrieved via The Fed Gazette Ledger, https://fedgazette.com/ledger/.

Do not cite a story marked Sample story. Samples are layout placeholders and report nothing.

Using the marks

  • Leave clear space around the wordmark at least the height of the letter e. Leave clear space around the monogram of at least a quarter of its width.
  • Keep the wordmark at least 160 pixels wide on screen and 1.25 inches in print. Use the monogram below that size.
  • Use the dark wordmark on light grounds and the ivory one on dark grounds. Do not recolor, stretch, outline, or add effects.
  • The engraved wordmark is the masthead. Do not set the name in a font as a stand-in for it. Chomsky sets the name only in small places such as the header band, the footer, and the PDF folio.
  • The FG monogram is this paper’s own mark. It is not the Federal Reserve seal. Do not place it beside a Federal Reserve seal or a Reserve Bank logo, and do not use it in a way that suggests the paper speaks for the Federal Reserve.
  • Using a mark to point to this paper is fine. Using it to suggest that this paper endorses a product, a person, or a position is not.
